I'm surprised the Romsey rainfall total is only 45% of the long term
average... just down the road in Southampton it seems (no
measurements,sorry...) to have been at or just above the long term
average. No thoroughly wet days but several of heavy showers and a few
overnight frontal passages towards the end of the month. Don't know
what your % was last August (2005) but it seemed a wetter August than
2005. I'm guessing Romsey missed many of the showers... I've noticed,
travelling round the south recently, that some areas still have very
dry grass whilst here it's recovered.
