Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Sunday. Issued 0533z,
6 September 2006. The models are mixed but generally show a warm and settled outlook for England and Wales, with a greater risk of rain for Scotland and Northern Ireland. ECMWF: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Recm1201.gif High pressure lies to the east, drawing up a southerly flow for Scotland with SE'lies for England and Wales. There's little change at T+144, but by T+168 cyclonic SSW'lies cover the UK from complex low pressure to the west. MetO: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rukm1201.gif Unavailable today. GFS: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/pslv_frame.htm A trough covers Ireland, with SSW'lies across the UK. The trough moves swiftly eastwards at T+144, leaving a ridge and light winds over England and Wales. Elsewhere winds are SW'lies, followed by further SW'lies for most regions on day 7. GEM: http://meteocentre.com/models/glb00_120.html As with GFS, a trough covers Ireland with SW'lies for Northern Ireland and southerlies for Scotland. England and Wales lie under light winds. JMA: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rjma1201.gif The Japanese run shows high pressure over the North Sea, with southerlies for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Elsewhere winds are easterlies. NOGAPS: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rngp1201.gif SE'lies cover the UK, with a ridge over Scotland and a trough over SW England. |
