Default Sound of chain saws in Haytor

================================================== ==================
This posting expresses the personal view and opinions of the author.
Something which everyone on this planet should be able to do.
================================================== ==================

The chain saws are going in Haytor. People are sawing up logs for the winter in
earnest now.

Will Hand at Haytor meteorological office said " It is too early to be certain
about the prospects for this winter but the lowering SSTs in the Iceland area
could mean that any NW winds may be colder than normal. In any case we will get
snow up here at some stage and people ought to be prepared "

Will.

Has there ever been a time when no snow has fallen on the tops of Dartmoor,
give us a break even and uninformed idiot like me could forecast that.

Joe, that article was meant to be a bit tongue-in-cheek!
(Partly as a response to Howard's dig the other night)
Yes of course we always get snow every winter at Haytor, but I was semi-serious
about Iceland.

Will, how about a new meteorological statisitic field - The log index - the
higher Will's log pile, the more severe the impending winter. I'm sure the
MetO would appreciate it.
