1500 S F3-4 60km - 1/CB T177D142
RMK: 1Cb (cap & cal), also Cu con (all in distance from N through NE,
to E), also detached Cirrus anvils, some pileus & Ac Cb gen. Various
other scrappy bits of Cu fra, Sc Cu/Cb gen & Ci about, but total cloud
amount 2 oktas - a marked change over past hour in sky character. Total
rainfall since 09Z 0.5mm, so nothing too dramatic, despite the
'two-rumble' thunderstorm of just over an hour ago.=

1800 SSE F3-4 25km -SHRA 1/CB 3/CU 6/AS T162D133
RMK: 1Cb~018 (distant/to NE), 3Cu med~020, 4Sc~050 & assorted Ac, both
probably ex-Cu/Cb from elsewhere, 6As~150 (?shield of medium cloud from
complex running north?), Ci/Cs above. A real mixed bag of cloud, though
as I type this up, clearance appearing from the south.
[ DAYTIME DATA (09Z - 18Z):
screen max: 18.6 precipitation: 0.5
other data: with today's half-hearted thunderstorm 'day' (two rumbles at
1358Z maketh so), we are up to 6 such days for this month (long-term
average 2 days), and the total for the year so far is up to 21
(long-term annual average 15). In our short record / started 2000 / the
highest number of days with thunder heard is 22 in 2001.]=
