Default Less rain than expected?

Did anyone else get less rain from this system than forecast? I thought it
was going to be quite heavy at times and "linger" on into Friday morning.
I've had only 2mm so far and it appears to have cleared.

Dave

You should get a bit more on the cold front tomorrow which may turn out to
be quite an active feature in the far SE

3.8mm for me at Southend-on-Sea Dave, about what I expected, maybe a
little more. It's sure to rain tomorrow as we are going on the Barge
from Ipswich !

And 3.0mm in Canterbury.

Also of note was the low temperature of 4.5C last night - the coldest
for 4 months (since 5 June). The maximum of 15.7C was the lowest since
26 June. I'm experimenting with a new page on my website:

Yes-down here in mid Dorset it was a bit feeble and I noted the radar
colours were blue when the warm front approached whereas it seemed to
have plenty of echoes when it got off east of us.
It was really nuisance rain.

and from what I can gather what appears to be a wave, is going to
appear Poole way and miss us too, tomorrow

Well it didn't miss Fareham! (albeit further East)

Nearly 30 mm of rain yesterday (6th) in two bursts - heavy rain at
breakfast time and very heavy rain at lunchtime.

Good prediction by Jon earlier in this thread and the third time in
three weeks that I've recorded more than an inch of rain here. Not an
every-year occurrence, I can tell you!

Whatever happened to the 'drought'?

Cheers, Dave
Fareham (West)
