20:00 and it's still 18.1°c, today maximum was 20.9°c, very early days
but I'm +3.0°c of my average October temp and looks like staying warm
for a few days to come yet.
I guess this muggyness is fueling that line of storms to my north.

and the heavy rain apparently due at the south coast (but to my east)
later tonight. I gather the muggyness will not clear until a further
front passes through Wednesday.

I'm still travelling to and from work wearing no jacket (just a shirt and
tie on top)
Waiting at Rayleigh station at 9am and at Stratford station at 7pm this
evening was pleasantly warm, even for mid October!

I just walked back from the pub at 11:15pm in a short-sleeved shirt!
Definitely feels warm outside :-)

You wouldn't want to be doing that up here, just popped out to check
condistions and it's definitely nippy still at 6C air temp though. We now
have a thin veil of cloud enough to kill the stars but not the major
detail of the moon. Dew on the cars is still water not ice and with the
thin cloud cover we might not actually get a ground frost. Brr...

Coming back from work yesterday with no coat and short sleeved
shirt was the first time this evening that it's felt decidedly nippy to
be at this time. There was sometihng of a breeze but the now the
sun's much lower in the sky at 5pm makes all the difference.

And we didn't. Cloud much thicker at 0700 this morning. Overnight air min
3.5C, coldest since 31st May. Cold enough to bring the mice in. B-)

Currently: 8.5C F4 SE'ly, wind chill just about down to 0C.

Hi, Dave,
Grass down to -2.7C here before the cloud moved in. Met site 09Z- 09Z
Max 15.0C Min 4.1C Lead Mill Max 14.5C Min 2.3C
Not particularly cold - the long term mean min at the Met O site is
5.3C(about 1degC lower at the Mill). Much milder again for the next
few days by the look of it.
The long term is looking interesting though, a bit wintry up your way
if it comes off?
