the odd muffled rumble of thunder.

.... moderate or heavy rain in equal measure until 0935Z (accompanied by
thunder with a frequency of about a discharge per 2 to 3 mins), then
settled into a steady (current) moderate, with thunder at decreased
frequency. Total rainfall in past hour 13.1mm. Thunder 'cells' appear to
be drifting south-to-north, developing / decaying fairly quickly. A
distinctly gloomy day - some streetlights on.

Martin.

now (1035Z); total rainfall for the 'event' since 09Z 13.7mm. Thunder
still rumbling about to the east/NE, but on the way out (I think!)
