Wokingham 0900z RETARD 130 04kt 3500m -TS+RA 2St006 5St008 7St012 8Cb025 +16.3/+15.8 QFF 1007.1 -0.4 in 3hr RMK This is just the latest in a series of thunderstorms since ca 0230z. The ob is delayed due to the need to switch off the PC and disconnect from mains and BT line, owing to the proximity of lightning. Just after the ob, but before I left the met site, the rain became torrential, and this phase lasted for about 5 mins before returning to just heavy. At 0935z there was an episode of day darkness due to the next Cb cells arriving overhead, and another heavy downpour with thunder ensued. Now, at 1012z, it is still overcast with mod rain, but it is begining to look a bit brighter to the south. Another lightning and rumble now to the north. 09-09 Max 20.1 Min 13.4 Grass min 9.5 Rain 11.3 Sun (00-24) 1.1 -- Bernard Burton Wokingham, Berkshire, UK.
