Default [OT] Learning about climate change

The Open University has just launched "Open Learn" which aims to provide some of
its learning materials free to anyone wishing to study them.

http://openlearn.open.ac.uk/

There is a short course entitled "Global Warming" which may be of interest to
some readers of this ng.
Details are in the "Science and Nature" section.

What gets me about all this glowballs is that despite all the disasters
and the very cold and late spring, the drought of a sort and the
unusual behaviour of the N Atlantic hurricanes -such as there were this
year, the lack of Arctic ice and all the rest of it, the trees have had
a splendid time of it, the hay and wheat harvest have been good and
there is no dearth of fresh food on the shelves.*

We even managed to not have a factory farming disaster this year (so
far.)

So what is this course? A debate or a fait accompli?

*One small problem was that grapes grew so big, so fast, they burst on
the vine. (But who cares about the French?)

Something you should study and find out for yourself.
That is rather the point with education, don't you think?

That is my problem. I do think
.....but I think everyone else is wrong most of the time.

I also think that I am right some of the time.
But what has put your knickers in a twist, my dear?

What's there to learn Gianna. Humans destroy their environment, wickedly
release Co2 when burning fossil fuels to keep warm, give us heat, light
industry, medicines, PC's, education, open university, BBC. and News
Groups.#

That Co2 is then going to trap heat and warm our planet. Everyone will die
of heat, cold and drowning. The only thing that will save some in the
great flood is if they can cling to their Tax return forms. The survivors
will all cling to mountain tops where Ken can really get to grips with the
congestion charge.

I don't need no Open Uni course for that, I hear it, read it and see it
every bleeding day.
