Default Driving down to Malaga next week, Weather?

I'm driving down from North Shropshire to Malaga starting Tuesday, via west
coast French motorway through Nantes&Bordeaux, then Bilbao, Burgos, Madrid,
Valdepenas,Jaen, Granada.
Does anyone have any forecast as to the likely state of the weather, will it
affect the road and should I consider an alternative route.

Thanks
Tom

I have driven on the west coast French motorway and can recommend it. South
of Bordeaux it turns into a dual carriageway RN road full of Spanish and
Portuguese HGVs - they avoid the toll sections of the network for cost
reasons. Fortunately they are forbidden from overtaking on long sections of
this road and on the whole they seem to comply so you should not get stuck
behind too many of them. From the look of the charts the weather should be
good with light SE winds and not too cold.

Presumably the heavy snow that affected Burgos and Palencia over Christmas
should be largely gone by now?

Default Driving down to Malaga next week, Weather?

Hi Tom,
I just got back from Malaga today.
There wasn't much snow in the country south of the Pyrenees/ Cantabricas
save for the odd dusting on the Castillian sierras.
There was virtually no snow on the Sierra Nevada looking down from the plane
today.
Temperatures for the past week in Malaga have been up and down. But mostly
on the up now.
It was 20ºC widely on the Costa Del sol yesterday - with quite a few
sunbathers on the beaches (albeit sheltered by windcheaters).
Generally Malaga is dry. I was told that the spot of rain they had last
Sunday was the first since October - which in turn was the only period of
rain since last spring.
The citrus trees on the coast are looking a picture of health at the moment,
despite them having to endure a very rare airfrost last week.
There was also problems with ice on the higher roads around the Sierra
nevada, inc. Granada at the same time. "Probably the coldest couple of days
in Adalucia for 30 years" (so the newspapers said).
But I'll be surprised if the bulk of your stay isn't under blue skies and
strong sunshine once you reach Malaga.
Enjoy - and don't forget the sunglasses.
Alex.
