Default Tuesday's / Wednesday's low

Interesting to see the low forecast to move east through N Scotland and
then towards Norway and then south-east into Sweden / Denmark. Vaguely
reminiscent of the N Sea floods low from 1953, although I'm sure people
will correct me on the exact track of that system !!

Some quite strong winds coming down the North Sea...

Richard

Rich - There is an animation of the charts for that period on the MO site.

Rich,
a reanalysis of the 1953 event is here-
# ERA-40 Project Report Series No. 10
Jung, T., E. Klinker and S. Uppala
Reanalysis and reforecast of three major European storms of the 20th
century using the ECMWF forecasting system
November 2003
http://www.ecmwf.int/publications/li...A40_PRS_10.pdf
I believe it was published in Met Apps as two papers,
regards,
David

Any idea what sort of level of tides are expected that day? Looks like they
may close the Thames Barrier if the GFS is anything to go by.
