Good morning, everyone.
The mediterranean low has already made its way to the east, classifying October 2006 as one of the four wettest ones ever in Nicosia (Cyprus), parts of western Crete and Volos. Before it said its last words, it gave over 100 mm in northern Athens and snow on the mountains around -mostly- central Greece. Pic from Mt. Pilio by Helias Kostoudis: http://www.meteovolos.gr/images/IMGP0196small.jpg After a pause today, colder weather is on its way to Greece as of Thursday night and snow is now certain to fall even in low lying areas (100 m amsl) in the northeast of the country and, I would add, some of the northeastern and eastern aegean isles. Noticeably cooler in The Netherlands today with temperatures hovering around +9C (http://www.knmi.nl/actueel) and occasional rain showers. Yannis, Bilthoven/NL |
