Two questions for Damien,...

1/ Are you the same Damien who starred in 'The Exorcist'

2/ Could you pinpoint exactly around our coasts where the water is 10C
above normal at the moment ? (from your previous post).

Default Unusually high North Sea SSTs

No.:-)

Well, I haven't checked them for a bit - but I believe that THE NORTH
SEA has currently high SSTs for the team of year. This has in fact been
so for quite a while now. Parts of the Arctic Ocean off the coast of
north-west Scandinavia also do, as does, of course, the Gulf
Stream-based Atlantic Ocean. However, these are irrelevant, really, as
an easterly will come from our east - obviously across the North Sea -
and not from our west.

This *may* well yet not be a problem though. November 1993, anyone?
SSTs were also quite HIGH then as well, and the snow STILL reached
Britain!:-o (In fact, some say it that actually HELPED the snow to
arrive, through the warmer, evaporating air off the oceans creating
more moisture, and hence more precipitation around our shores - is that
right, anyone?;-))
