Mind you if the MO had a spokesperson that was available for media then
this could be somewhat avoided.

You mean a medium mediator/mediatrix?

What is the point of digitalin' if you haven't the heart for it?

I think the point of having a feedback page for the MetO is to overcome
any lack in the feed department. And yes it is crap. Czjd, in fact.

And here we are - but it is fun (-:

Say I had a 13 faced die, numbered 1 to 13 then you would agree
that the chances of getting a 13 are 13-1, right?
So if I rolled it 13 times then on average I'd get one 13.
Roll it 26 times, the on average I'd get two 13s.
Same with the snow in December.

Only if there was an equal chance of it landing on any particular
number, and I think that's only possible if it's very cunningly
weighted. Now if you had said you had a 12-faced or 20-faced die...

Yes, but the odds of 13:1 were for december 25 only, not for any other day in
december. For december 15 you might for example need a 17 faced die (or any
other number not 13).

If you rolled your 13 faced die on december 25, the chances of you getting a 13
(or any other number 13), and the chances of it snowing (in central london)
would be the same.

If you rolled it on any other day of the year, you would merely be playing dice
(unless by happenstance, the odds for that day were 13:1 also).

Incidentally, it's going to be interesting to see how the 'White
Christmas' thing is going to be verified this year with the wholesale
closure of most of the old Weather Centres. As they use the nonsensical
'one flake doth a White Christmas make' rule, there going to be room for a
lot of argy-bargy when people turn up after Christmas to claim their
winnings ;-)

The SunTel picked up on this via William Hill who had spoken
to a piscatorial retired TV presenter. I was happy to add my

What do you expect from a porn baron sleaze king ( Mr Desmond) who was given
the greenlight by the DTI (Stephen Byers-remember him)to take over the
Express Newspaper group as long as he backed them-and he did until recently.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.../08/nexp08.xml

Now I'm no Tory, but at least they had the decency to block that other "put
porn on the newsagents shelf" slime merchant, Mr David Sullivan.

It's good to know that truth is well, and in the good hands of the Labour
Party.

It would seem they will resolutely search high and low and leave no stone
unturned when it comes to taxation.
They are going to try and accrue tax from Casino gambling -where you can
take your wife and kids along for the day and go broke as a family unit, ah
bonding due to dept.
They will, even though petrol duty is currently going to the Inland Revenue
at rate of around 80 pence in the pound, and already there is a climate levy
of domestic rates 5% and business rate 17% - nope they will heave even more
taxes upon us to pay for the climate catastrophe that is now being visited
upon us.

You see we will never get to any truth with this party, as long as one can
spin with the likes of Desmond. Hey who needs him, the BBC are doing on the
license fee.

Climate change has become part of this irrational but growing 'Faith'
culture.
AGW is the work of the devil and the media will be putting on 'passion
plays' to make sure we pay more money to those that would defend us from
evil.

For the climate (pun not really meant-but I'll take it ) of spinning large
fibs, of standing "shoulder to shoulder" with the media to help us form the
"road map to taking the peace" out of the last ones actually working, is now
upon us.

Remember Patricia Hewitt ironically telling the world during a glutfest on
Global warming how Britain (the NHS) had endured the coldest winter for
forty years (obviously global warming again)

Anything the Labour Party says on GW forget it. There's not enough salt on
this planet, to take with their lies.

They are incapable of ever, telling the truth.
