I think it an improvement overall. Scotland seems to have the same weather
warning text for lots of new regions (falkirk, stirling, tayside etc) all talking about 25-50mm of rain in W and Highlands regions - which is fine but not really relevant for the regions the text is under. As per usual talking about maximum winds but not stating that 95% of Scotland will get no where near this figure.- creating hype than clarity, i feel ------------------------------------------------------------------------ here is the weather warning for Dundee City: The Met Office is forecasting severe weather over Northern Ireland, western Scotland and parts of Northwest England today and this evening. By midnight tonight, another 25mm of rain is likely in most parts, and the mountains could see in excess of 50mm. With river levels already very high, this is likely to lead to local flooding and associated disruption. Gales will accompany the rain with gusts up to 70mph for a time before gradually easing later in the afternoon. While the worst of this particular event will be over by tonight, further wind and rain are expected over the next few days. ? brian aberfeldy |

Well my Father has just read out to me a story from Today's Daily Record
talking about flood chaos for Stirling etc- I wonder where they could have got that idea?? I expect that the Dundee Courier will be carrying a similar story for Dundee... Hopefully they will be more clearly labelled very soon. -- Stuart Brooks Carluke South Lanarkshire 223m amsl webcams at www.brooks22.plus.com/index.htm INC new high res webcam |

Yet the damage is done, Scotland's "best selling" newspaper carried the
report, the reported weather did not occur and the reputation of forecasting is eroded once again in the eyes of many.
