FYI
The front associated with the deep low people are talking about came through Bristol at 04:53 GMT 03/12/2006. There was a maximum wind speed gust of 47 mph at 04:53 GMT against a 10 minute average wind speed (04:50 - 05:00 GMT) of 25 mph. The temperature at 04:50 was 11.2C, by 05:00 it had fallen to 9.2C. In the same time 10 minute period 3 mm of rain fell (6.4 mm over 30 minutes). The rain rate for 3.0 mm over ten minutes is calculated as 142.2 mm/hour. The pressure rose from 985.9 mb at 04:50 GMT to 988.7 at 05:00 GMT. The above figures are not be the most dramatic of the night by any means but for us sheltered urban types still quite an event.
