After a year of some notable tornados hitting well populated areas of
the uk including Leeds in the summer and now London we only have photos
of the damage. No where have I been able to get photos of the cause of
the damage. Also the so called witnesses don't seem to describing
actually seeing the tornado. Now looking at the sort of damage I am
guessing maybe F2 so should be big enough to spot.

Several witnesses on News24 said they saw the tornado. A couple of them said
they saw it before it touched down.

The ten o'clock BBC news - perhaps just the London bit? - mentioned an
even worse tornado in 1954 (spookily, on December 8th, I think) that
touched down at intervals all the way from Gunnersbury to Kensal Rise.
No pictures there either...

Not everyone spends all day looking out of the window, camera
at the ready. And if you were outside you'd be more concerned with
avoiding flying debris than taking piccies. This one was not like a
Kansas City monster which you can see 2 miles away.

we had a tornado in Nottinghamshire in the late 80s I ran in for my vidcam
and it was at the end of the film doh! re wound a bit and blow me the spout
lost its black funnel as it was coming straight down the road towards my
neighbours house down a slope . It lost some power but it was amazing to
hear all the roof tiles clattering like a Mexican wave either side of the
road. Then it hit the front of the neighbours roof and lifted the tiles off.
Our heavy metal chairs were lifted up and thrown up the garden.

I caught the last part of the tornado on film but no visible funnel ! due to
no debris
