I'm beginning to see a firm daily trend developing here... weather headline,
Princess Diana 'the truth' headline, we're going to be swamped by migrants headline, then (like today) weather 'we warned you' headline... taking bets now on tomorrow's banner headline. DAVID |

I was browsing some weather forums on the evening before the day the
tornado happened. There was some talk about the possibility of tornados. I know Torro put out warnings and so forth, however the mainstream channels certainly don't pick up on it. They possibly don't see a need because it remains rare that a tornado strikes a metropolitan area. Unfortunatly that means people will always be taken by surprise when they do occur They form VERY quickly... this one only hung out for less than 60 seconds... yet look what it did I notice there is no talk about the depth of this weekend's low pressure On the latest advisory, 932 millibars by noon Sunday, 230 miles south-west of Iceland. Not a record beater..... but man, that is deep |

![]() On Dec 9, 5:35 pm, "BlueLightning" I notice there is no talk about the depth of this weekend's low pressure On the latest advisory, 932 millibars by noon Sunday, 230 miles south-west of Iceland. Not a record beater..... but man, that is deep Yes, you're the first to mention it, I think, so well done. I have been monitoring the UKMO forecasts for the last 5 days and last Tuesday's T+132 (verified Sunday 1200Z) shows a Low 927 at 60 N 38 W, not far from the T+24 yesterday. I think this is remarkably good seeing that the explosive deepening of this low did not start until late Friday. The subsequent forecasts (T+120, T+96 etc) also show the troughing NE'wards over Iceland to form a separate Low to the NE of Icland. As you say, not a record breaker but it qualifies as a "bomb", deepening at more than 2xsin latitude mb/hr over a 24-hr period. (I think that is the criterion). Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey. |
