This has easily been the coldest day of the season so far with a max of
4.0c. Early fog soon lifted to be replaced by anticyclonic gloom. Since sunset the low stratus has broken and the temperature now is 2.0c.Will this be the coldest night of the season so far? Not much to beat - the coldest so far is -1.0c. Peter Clarke Ewell, Epsom 55m |

Cambridge airport and indeed other airfields in East Anglia didn't get
above minus 1 all day. Although I am less than 20 kms from Cambridge, on the top of our hill (140 metres asl) we were above the fog all day and reached the dizzy temperature of +2 Jack |

Temp dropped below 0 C at 0200h this morning and reached -3.8 C at 0900h, the coldest night so far this winter at this site. Surprisingly the fog that developed mid-evening yesterday had completely gone by this morning with it confined to the Avon valley. It is now a beautiful cloudless winter day without a breath of wind. This should herald a very cold night tonight. Keith Mortimore |
