Great Dun Fell (847m) is reporting temps around 9C.
Howhill (421m) is not far short of -2C. 11C in 426m (1400') seems quite steep... -- Cheers Dave. pam is missing e-mail |

The Nottingham sounding for midnight gives +10.8 at 828 metres and
Albermarle gives +10 for the nearest equivalent height. So your figures at height tie in exactly. I can hardly see how you could have got the numbers wrong lower down (presumably actually measured), so yes - a most impressive inversion. Jack |

To early for the Terra/Aqua MODIS pass images yet but a glorious bright crisp sunny morning here. Heavy frost visible down in the vally not quite so much up here. -- Cheers Dave. pam is missing e-mail |

Max 8.6C (1200) Min -1.4 (2031). No wind to speak of until 1800 when an F2 SE'll sprung up, since then the temp has been a bit wandery. It dropped to that low then shot up to 2C between 2030 and 2100 but it's now back below freezing. At around 1800 to 1900 it was a lovely clear starlit night to welcome Santa to the Market Cross in Alston. Nice cresent moon with earthshine as well. During the day I could see fog lying further down the South Tyne valley towards Slaggyford and the fire smoke was hanging low over Garrigill this morning. -- Cheers Dave. pam is missing e-mail |
