Message from a colleague over in Akrotiri mentioned they have a frost
warning out tonight for the airfield. Apparently it's only the 3rd time such a warning has been issued in the last 50 years, the last recorded air frost being -1.2°C in February 1997. Currently +2.8 with a dew point of -12 LCRA 271950Z 35005KT CAVOK 03/M12 Q1021 min. expected to be around zero. Jon. |

They were having serious problems with exceptionally heavy rainfall a few weeks ago, especially around the Paphos area. Of course, it does snow in the mountainous area in the centre of the island - enough for skiing. Mount Olympus is just short of 2000m though. -- Jonathan Stott Canterbury Weather: http://www.canterburyweather.co.uk/ Reverse my e-mail address to reply by e-mail |
