We had a short but sharp hail shower just before 7pm. I can probably
count on the fingers of one hand the times we've had hail here in the
last couple of years. No thunder either. But they we also seem to miss
out on thunder here recently!

Where? There were a few rumbles of thunder to the south here
at 1654 hrs, but no lightning seen.

The same in Dorset but earlier= at 1515. I was walking back from
Dancing Ledge near Swanage and when I heard the thunder I thought of
another flash flood and hurried home. A lot of hail hit us, to my
suprise,
R

That is unfortunately because I suffer from acute tinnitus and once I
wake I wake! After 5 years of unpleasant ringing I had a grommet
fitted in June. Six months of absolutelysilent bliss followed which
halted abruptly on December 12th..it is hell unless I can concentrate
on something else!
