Default Davis Vantage Pro 2 - change over time ?

Snip earlier messages
PaulPaul, I export all of my 10 minute data to a web site.

When you do browse - export records - select day month the data in
Weatherlink
is exported as a text (.txt) file. That can then be imported into
Excel and
edited.
Seehttp://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/Haytor/automatic/AWS_feb2006.txtfor
an
example of my final product.

HTH

Will.

Thanks for that Will and everyone else - now created a txt file - I
currently have it set to saving every minute, perhaps a change to 10m
maybe more appropriate ?

cheers
Paul

I set my archive interval to 15 mins as I only download the data
approximately weekly. On a VP1 that rate of download allows for about 28days
of data before the data is overwritten but the VP2 models may be better. It
does help to make the spreasheet manageable.

I think, from recent threads, many people use 10 minutes. I do, and
chose it on the basis that the logger capacity is then about 17 days,
i.e. enough that if Weatherlink goes tits-up as soon as you go off on 2
week holiday, no data would be lost!
Ties in with 10 minute average wind speeds as well.
The barometer is read every 15 minutes regardless of log interval, so
there's a slight argument for 15 min log period, but I still think 10
mins wins.
Data files end up at 377/389K per month, which is manageable.

Perhaps they measure midnight to midnight in America?

America being America anything is possible, even though I'm pretty sure
the international "met day" is 0900 - 0900.

|weatherlink, recommendations greatfully received.

I don't have a VP2 (one day perhaps) but Weather-Display from
http://www.weather-display.com/index.php works with all Davis units
and will do the reset for you at the time you want.

HTH

Weather-Display will indeed allow you to have either a 0900 or midnight
reset time for all its own calculations. It also will alter the VP to read
the baro every minute (actually 1, 5, 10 or standard 15 minute intervals).
Loads of other features should you want or need them.
