Default Today's model interpretation (7/01/07)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Thursday. Issued
0629z, 6 January 2007.

The outlook is still very changeable, with low pressure never far from the
UK. All areas will see plenty of rain and strong to gale force west or
WSW'lies for the weekend.

ECMWF: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...mwf/ecmwf.html
Strong to gale force westerlies cover the UK with a deep low to the north.
The winds become WSW'lies at T+144 as another low moves eastwards, followed
by further WSW'lies on day 7.

MetO: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...ukmo/pslv.html
MetO shows westerlies as well, this time with a weak ridge over the UK. A
low deepens to the north on day 6, bringing strong to gale force WSW'lies
over the UK.

GFS: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/pslv_frame.htm
WSW'lies cover the UK with a weak ridge over the North Sea. The winds become
SW'lies at T+144 ahead of a trough to the west. By day 7 a weak ridge covers
the UK with WSW'lies.

GEM: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da.../gem/pslv.html
A deep low lies to the west of Scotland, leading to strong WSW'lies for
most.

JMA: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run also shows strong WSW'lies, this time with a low to the
NNW.

NOGAPS: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rngp1201.gif
A weak ridge brings strong westerlies for all.
