Happened to watch the Countryfile forecastjust now and the presenter
said that the depression on Friday 'might be the last as there is not much developing after that'. So is that another way of saying we might get a build of pressure somewhere near the UK? R |

However all that will probably happen is that instead of the conveyor belt of depressions and W/SW winds we get a few days of cooler but still pretty unintesting from a sever winter wqeather point of view, showery and blustery NW winds. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

Such a thing is a wash out is it not? Whereas a standing wave or whatever the innyerwindow might be, is a singularity IIRC. And we all know what happens with them, don't we children? |

I can't see it myself, but that thinking falls in line with Alan Reppert of Accu Weather. http://ukie.accuweather.com/ukie/new...r&blog=reppert -- Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net e-mail: kreh at southendweather dot net |

Without accreditation :-), I might not be qualified to say this, but isn't the Barlett high a more likely scenario with depressions crossing to the north of us, and with a ridge over the UK we will still get westerlies but with less of the rain, in the south anyway? Just a thought Steve |

Maybe that's not so bad though; at least cooler, showery and blustery NW winds have more aesthetic appeal at this time of year than the mild, overcast damp stuff (IMO). We got an all-too-brief burst of such conditions yesterday evening down here in the far south, with a very nice sunset. Nick |
