Saw some interesting landings today !
Highest gust appears at:

EGLL 110850Z 23030G49KT 9999 -RA BKN016 OVC030 11/08 Q1006

Many disgruntled passengers who had been diverted to Stansted were
cursing our weather this morning. I, personally, experienced a very
un-nerving landing just before midday - you could feel the fuselage
being buffeted by the crosswinds. It must have been a nightmare for the
pilot to hold it together...it was about as much as the passengers
could do not to be ill...

I wonder what the daily tonnage of fuel used (wasted) and carbon emitted by
aircraft holding inbound to LHR even when weather is favourable. It's a
frightening thought.
