This 2km resolution MODIS image is slightly further north, but clearly
shows a lot of airborne dust yesterday.

v frustrating - have just spent far too long trying to find back
something I read on the BBC news website (or possibly Science Daily) a
few days ago. Does this ring a bell with anyone? It was about
dustplumes from the Sahara and other African deserts carrying important
minerals across the Atlantic to the South American forests, rather
interesting.
