I can't reacall a long range Taf like this either:

Cardiff EGFF 171029Z 171818 25018G28KT 9999 BKN030 BECMG 1821 21015KT
TEMPO 0012 7000 RA BECMG 0104 22028G38KT TEMPO 0311 4000
RADZ
BKN012 BECMG 0508 24030G50KT TEMPO 0814 26040G70KT=

Note the very end - gusts 70 knots

Almost as bad is Luton (on the hill) with TEMPO 1115 22045G60KT

Now just wait for media on Thursday night:
"Disruption as a result on an unexpected gale"

Jack

If that happens it'll be very bad here (Whipsnade) ... I think the sunshine
recorder will be put safely away tonight.

Default Thursday's Storm 1100 MetO update

Latest forecast from Met O website

Headline:
Wet later tonight, damaging winds tomorrow.

It all seems still on course, for a pretty wild day

Shipping forecast is pretty wild too, with several mentions of violent
storm 11's being possible

Time for final preperations

Personally I would be surprised to see a gale severe enough to do much
structural damage here in Reading. A few fences down, some branches maybe,
but not justifying such hype. My money would be further north and east. What
do you think?

as well as the usual suspects near south/west coasts of course. Anyone
agree.

GFS is going for mean winds of 35 knots here in the Midlands tomrrow
morning, I've been looking at the GFS for the past 7 years and have never
seen such strong winds forecast in the Midlands, could be interesting to say
the least.
