It isn't that far off. I'm near to Leeming and we are seeing damaging
gusts of about that speed. But I'd say it was closer to being a proper
sustained force 10 gale where I live for about an hour yesterday
afternoon ~3pm.

Hi, Martin,

Highest 10min at Leeming yesterday during the period you mention was
30KT(F7)
Copley 10 minute figures support that with 31KT Gust 42KT
Today so far our 10min high is 30KT(F7) and 40KT gust
Leeming has touched 35mph(30KT, F7) with 63mph(54KT) gusts, so no gale
- yet.
F10, MWS 48 - 55KT(55 - 63mph) would certainly be interesting in the
Vale of York - we shall see!!
