A light flurry here, lasting about 15 minutes around 23.00GMT, has left a
nice dusting on the roads and car roofs. Now dry again with higher cloud, though it was never very thick (none of the characteristic "orangey" appearance under the street-lights) and has melted a little over drain covers etc. Temp currently hovering around zero. Even if that's our lot for tonight - the MetO radar shows the heavier stuff missing us to the east (as usual!) but quite a few scattered showers in Shropshire/Staffordshire that might reach us or might fizzle out - it's still actual snow for the first time this winter! -- Bewdley, Worcs. ~90m asl. |

Well, surprise surprise, it's looking like the fizzle option. The western edge of the main "blob" of snow seems to be extending gradually westwards, but it's too far south already to help me. -- Bewdley, Worcs. ~90m asl. |

Same here David. I looked outside about 11.30pm it was snowing lightly. Lawns, paths, and roads with a dusting. Joe Wolverhampton 175m asl |

Joe Wolverhampton 175m asl The dusting that settled earlier on in the night, is now being washed away, by sleet. If the skies clear in the night, there'll probably be quite a lot of accidents tomorrow, with icy roads, having not had winter this year. Joe Wolverhampton 175m asl |

Joe Wolverhampton 175m asl Much the same is happening here, except that it's cold drizzle rather than sleet; not really surprising given our respective altitudes. Agreed about the ice: it could be quite nasty come the rush hour. -- Bewdley, Worcs. ~90m asl. |
