In message om,
stingjet writes well the silence sums you guys up really! lighten up for **** sake! Hahaha Yes but what you need to realize is that many here are cold weather desperados. Why on earth they want such discomfort is strange to me too but, whatever; they crave it nonetheless. Suspect none of them have the slightest idea, or interest, as to how much suffering, hardship and discomfort extreme cold causes to both humanity and our native creatures. Reckon too that many of them have never actually experienced real cold weather either. Hey what the hell? Overgrown schoolboys will be overgrown schoolboys, or morons, such is today's Britain. The main thing is that they can throw snowballs, sled, build pathetic snowmen and submit, towny life, sodium light enhanced photos of 3cms of snow in half melted suburban gardens. The weather, in all it's guises, interests me too but the cold weather whoppers amuse me more than most. -- Denis |

Reckon too that many of them have never actually experienced real cold weather either. As well as being exciting, cold/severe weather always gives me an extra special kick when people die. The severe gales the week before last killed over 10 people, that was great! Here's hoping that any imminient cold spell will kill lierally hundreds of old people as they desperately try to keep warm wrapped up in blankets and bobble hats, in front of their one-bar electric fires. The human misery caused by severe weather has always been the icing on the cake in severe weather events for me. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

I'll happily admit to falling into the "overgrown schoolboys" category when it comes to snow. Richard |

I don't think I would have liked it much in the winter of 1947 following years of wartime deprivation and rationing, without central heating or double glazing, and when even a lump of coal was hard to come by. But you have to admit that was a long, long time ago. |
