We have just set up an Instromet weather system (Climatica Executive with
datalogger) but are having trouble establishing communication between the
datalogger and the PC. The display cabinet is working fine and all the
sensors are correctly connected.

I'd be grateful if any readers with some experience of this system can offer
some help.

Have you enabled met data?

You will find this in Met Admin, then devices

Problem I had when using the system for the first time.

What a coincidence !- I have spent today with an Instromet ( Metlog ) unit
on my bench for repair - no RS232 comms....( we have 2 of them serving our
site )

If your problem does not turn out to be software/comms settings related and
u suspect hardware I have a few pointers for usual failures - especially if
the unit is a few years old -
