hooray!! enough snow to pull a sledge to school. Local primary school is
still open but the kids are outside playing in it. Hooray for reasonable
Headteachers. Local senior school is closed.

As was heavily implied on Radio Wales this morning, it's not the weather
that's closing the schools, but the fear of litigation from parents when
little Johnny falls over in the playground and breaks his leg, because
of ice and possibly fewer staff to make sure they don't do stupid
things.

Don't blame the teachers, blame those parents who, in today's society,
have to blame someone else for everything that goes wrong, in order
to make a quick profit.

Adrian

I sometimes wonder if today's parents have ever been children.

It was *very* nice to see the entire school out this morning, complete
with Headmistress, making snowmen and throwing snowballs. Not all
schools/parents have been afflicted with the fear blight.

Well, I'm quite sure that I haven't :-)

Quite a nice day here, 6/8 cloud, 4.1°C, brisk NNE wind...
