I'm surprised how quickly this snow has thawed universally in the
north Hants/Berks/Surrey area given the sub 5C temperatures... this
rate of thaw reminds me more of April snow when the temperature can
rise close to 10C in a cold airmass and the sun is much stronger. Oh
well, looks like a trip north or east isn't worth it tomorrow...

Nick - look at :

It shows 10c max at Herstmonceaux and 9c at Solent. We reached 4.2c here but
I guess with the wind and rain showers this pm it all accelerated the thaw.
