We have our water supplied by Mid Kent Water who have just announced
that the hosepipe ban that has been in place for many months now will stay in force. Every other water company in the south east has withdrawn their hosepipe bans citing heavier than usual rainfall. Mid Kent Water supplies 580,000 people, so quite a small area. It just struck me as odd that all the other water companies have enough water, while some of Mid Kent Water's aquifers are at "critically low" levels. There's a story on BBC News: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/6343801.stm -- Jonathan Stott Canterbury Weather: http://www.canterburyweather.co.uk/ Reverse my e-mail address to reply by e-mail |
