10.50GMT: Light continuous snow here. Still about 3cm of level cover from
yesterday's, so this is settling at once in most places, though not on the
wetter parts of the road.

11.50GMT: It's now warmed up very slightly (ice on car bonnets has now
melted) and the snow is turning sleety. Unless it peps up quite a bit, I
don't think we're going to get any further accumulations, even temporarily.

12.50GMT: It has pepped up! Moderate snow now falling, and though it's not
settling on the already thawed areas, it's probably almost as heavy as at
breakfast time yesterday.

16.00GMT: Moderate snow with occasional heavier bursts. About 2cm of fresh
snow now lying even in tyre tracks that were more or less clear this
morning.

18.55GMT: Still snowing, though the rate is slackening off. We've had about
5cm in total, I think, with the "drifts" in the front garden now getting up
to about 20cm.

23.45GMT: A disappointing, if not unexpected, end to a very enjoyable day:
light rain, which has been falling for a couple of hours now. There's still
the merest hint of sleetiness in it, and the thaw is slow, but the dampness
is making it very unpleasant and raw outside now.
