I ask, because many people, often some using this n/g, seem to use other
URL's sometimes ones which have not been used for a decade or more!

The current MO website does include the correct domain (as did the
previous version) in the page footer!

I actually had an email from the Met Office some years ago regarding the
link I had to their web site, and asking me to update it, I did. But
that must have been a lot of work for someone, to trawl through all the
pages linking to them and send them all an email.

They updated their site a few weeks back. I wrote a thread about it
around about then, too. I was collating the data on tropical cyclones.
Lucky I got most of it before they fed their stuff to the kids on the
youth training scheme that got the job.

Now I know why government blunders in their escapades into computing
are followed by catastrophe and admittance to total lack of any idea
what they are doing -in line with the account of the tremendous
expenses involved.

All brought to light in the popular newspapers on days when there are
no scandals. So we are still waiting for this particular shoe to drop.
