Default Winter 2006/7 CET

Back on the 1st December I predicted a CET of between 6 & 7c for Dec,
Jan, Feb on another forum, and with only a fews days left of Winter
2006/7 the current average is running at circa 6.3c, not a bad guess
hey!

Default Winter 2006/7 CET

Forgot to say, with an average temperature of 6.3c, this will have
been the mildest Winter since 1988/9 which had an average CET of 6.5c.

For this winter to match that of 1988/9, the average temp for the
whole of February needs to be 5.9c

For this winter to beat that of 1988/9, the average temp for the whole
of February needs to be 6.2c, and this is possible.

The all time record is 6.8c set back in the winter of 1868/9, this
would require an average February temperature of 6.8c to match it, and
an average temperature of 7.1c to beat it. Both of these seem
unlikely with only 1 week to go.

For the average CET this Winter to be 6.6c, and beat that of 1988/9,
the average CET for the remaining 5 days of February needs to be
+8.5c, and there is still a chance of that.

However,

For the average CET this Winter to be 6.9c, and beat that of 1868/9,
the average CET for the remaining 5 days of February needs to be
+13.5c, and there is Norfolk and Chance of that!
