The Borders has now been plunged into deepest winter, overnight temps
plunged to +1°C and all the cracks in the driveway have been filled with
deep snow! http://www.stuartstuart.fsnet.co.uk/misc/snw.jpg

Temperature now rallied to +3°C and a brief spell of rain has washed away
all my snow

Presumably that was winter in the Scottish Borders for this year ....... :-{

Hey be careful don't go driving on that! Essential life and death car
journeys only, like taking back last nights movies to the shop 50yds
down the road.

Around 0100 this morning we had about a cm. A few heavy showers
through the morning just about doubled that. Then the temp rose above
0C and the rain/sleet started only have slush on hard surfaces now and
50% patchiness on the fields.

We have just managed to get over 10cm total snowfall this winter,
previous winters have been 59, 39, 38 & 51cm...

Unlikely. Feb 25th, +/- a day or two, is when we normally get the
biggest single snowfall we have had 20cm then in the past but with
this winters current record I wouldn't be surprised if this a year
when we get nothing.

We haven't had any winter yet, the snow shovel is normally by the door
from Dec through to March and gets regular use. I think I've used it
once or maybe twice this year, it's not even by the door.
