Default [WR] Dartington, South Hams - flooding

31.6mm of rain since midnight last; 48.4mm for March so far, 197.0mm
in February, 426.4mm for 2007 so far.

Just back from an exploratory trip to Totnes. Extensive flooding in
the usual suspect areas bordering the River Dart, probably the 2nd or
3rd most extensive flooding in 6 years. Shame I didn't have a camera.
The River Dart is a site worth seeing coming over the weir just
outside Totnes...and it is still raining, but at a modest 1.0mm/hr.

Flood warning now in place between Dartmeet and Totnes.http://

Current temperature +11.7C.

Regards,
Richard.

Dartington, South Hams.

Cheers Richard.

I'm encouraged by the state of my judgement made earlier when I said that the
East Dart was in spate high up on the moor. The Dart is indeed a mighty river,
my favourite spot is Newbridge where the kayakers go.

If this rain continues other rivers could have problems too. The moor is so wet
now that *any* rain will go into the river systems.

Rain report for Haytor later at 1800 ob.

Will.
