Blimey Will, that's going some. I thought I was doing well in the relative
drylands of south east Devon with 322 mm so far this year.

I've had to delay transplanting some of me veggies into the garden because
the soil (despite being sandy) is so soggy.

Will-what was your final total for yesterday? I appreciate the 9-9 bit
but I would be interested to know what you got from the rain event
yesterday. I recorded 23.4mm for the day here in Dorset. We have had
some furious bursts earlier this evening which made me think about the
sandbags rather uselessly piled in the back of the car. I have a new
carpet now.
Things have eased off quite a lot in the last hour

This will be my last report as I'm knackered and lights have been flickering
recently anyway.
Continued severe gale on open moor exposed to the south. Not so bad at home in
relative shelter but wind still roaring and a good force 6. Max gust 34 knots at
3m agl.

Rain total so far (AWS) 27.2 mm.
Continuous heavy rain (getting heavier), rate 9 mm/h.
