Default [WR] Haytor 13/2/05 (snow and gales)

================================================== ==================
This posting expresses the personal view and opinions of the author.
Something which everyone on this planet should be able to do.
================================================== ==================

Regular snow and hail showers all morning till early afternoon. Temporary
covering of ground in showers but melting in between, Temp +1 to +3 deg C with
dewpoint down to -2 deg C for a few hours.

Brief full gale at the house this afternoon NW 35 knots with a gust to 51 knots
which unfortunately ripped off a slate off the edge of the roof, luckily I
wasn't underneath it when it came down. Storm force on the moor with mature
exposed trees bent double in the wind.

Showers turned to rain and hail late afternoon and turned lighter as wind eased
a bit.

1800

Wind (est 10m) NW 30 knots gust 45 knots
Temp 4.3 deg C
Dewpoint 1 deg C
Light rain showers
Bar 1017 hPa rising quickly

Rainfall total since midnight (AWS) 5.1 mm

Will.
