Manchester maximum
Does anyone happen to know what is the highest temperature recorded in

Manchester airport recorded 33.7ºC on 2nd August 1990 (yes, 2nd). Previously 32.2ºC at Prestwich on 9th August 1911. On 5th July 1881 a maximum of 93ºF (33.9ºC) was recorded at Ardwick, but I have no details of instrument/exposure ... it is unlikely to have been a Stevenson screen at that date. Philip Eden |
