There was a very light shower here at about 1230 and the
drops were quite small, but drizzle it was not. The public make the
same mistake - confusing light rain with drizzle but it shouldn't
happen with a METAR.
We've also just had a very light shower of soft hail here
with temperature falling to 5°C (from 9°C) but it has recovered.

The quality of Met Office reporting began to go down the tubes in the
1990's:
