Plenty of hail showers last night, but still haven't seen a single
flake of snow. Minimum temp last night was 4.5C, currently fluctuating
mainly in the 6-8C range. Feels much colder in the wind, which is
gusting 40-50mph.

The wind reached gale force 8 for a time in the early hours, max gust
58mph. Was relieved to see that the cottage garden furniture hadn't
blown into the sea this morning.

I think west Cornwall is more at risk of persistent showers tonight,
as the wind veers N and there's a long fetch down from the Irish Sea.
