Crack of thunder at 1710Z immediately followed by a moderate fall of large white hail, with many stones in excess of 10mm. *Largest irregular shaped stone was painfully measured at 13mm diameter. *(present weather TSGR). Odd. I live in Stoke on Trent -quite a bit away and thought I heard that crack of doom too. It sounded a little odd fo thunder but all else seemed to fit and it was followed immediately by an heavy shower of what must have been hail. I thought it was more snow atr the time but realise now it fell too thick and fast for that. Perhaps it was some distance away or maybe muffled by height? |
