Another sunny day down in the far SW, but with great visibility for a
change. Deep blue sky, deep blue sea. Just got back from St Ives, and the lighting was amazing. Might post some pics & figures later if I get around to it. Graham Penzance |

![]() Another sunny day down in the far SW, but with great visibility for a change. Graham, Penzance It is also pretty wow a little way from you, in Dundee. Another glorious day. The butterflies are flying, the bumblebees bumbling, the flies flying, the partridges running, and the pheasants - well, they're just being as stupid as usual. It is also 18.0C at the moment (still going up), making it the first day this year over 60F/15C (whichever you find more interesting; personally, I prefer 60F, but then I'm old) - a few days earlier than my average of 8 April. It has also already reached my top ten warmest April days ever (where "ever" is defined as after 1996). Trevor http://www.personal.dundee.ac.uk/~taharley/ |

Trevorhttp://www.personal.dundee.ac.uk/~taharley/ Trevor, I've just been looking at your extreme weather pages. Some interesting stuff, must have taken a while to put together. I thought you might be interested in www.easterling.freeserve.co.uk/PzStorm.PDF Certainly the easily the biggest weather event of the century (so far!) in this part of the world. Graham Penzance |

With a lot of help from our Philip. Your photograph of Mousehole is particularly good. I have been there; I know it's a bit off-topic, but I went there because I remember reading the last native speaker of Cornish lived there. Which, in retrospect, was a somewhat odd thing to do (for me, not her). T |

Yeah, stupid pheasants. Came home from work and wandered down the garden to feed the fish. Much commotion from the greenhouse, I retreated thinking it was the usual blue tit or what ever in there, no, a stupid pheasant. Which proceeded to batter its way out. Through the roof. Two panels of glass now in shards. I should think it'll have a bit a sore head, and may well bleed to death somewhere in the woods now. Did I say stupid pheasants? Ob USW : At long last the cold northerlies have faded, max 19.2C today vs 7.8C max yesterday. We climbed to 6000 feet in blue wave this afternoon, giving us a view of the country from Mount Keen to Assynt, and from the North Sea to An Teallach and Ben Nevis. Visibility was superb, apart from dozens of plumes of smoke where heather was being burned. Too warm inside the glider, but not so warm on the ground where there was a cool westerly breeze with a good deal of north in it. Anne |

Muirburn should stop after 15th April below 1500 feet and 30th
April above 1500 feet. Thanks, I knew about the 15th but didn't realise it was different higher up. I would have enjoyed the view! G Anne |

I should have popped round to see you, but we certainly picked a perfect time for a holiday. Very cold at night though!
