What was surprising was that (during daytime) it didn't actually
*feel* any warmer than any of the more moderately warm days (in the
15-20 range) we've had recently. Based on that I'd have estimated
about 19C yesterday for central southern England. After the sun went
down it was a different story - an incredibly warm night for April,
more typical of midnight in a July heatwave.

It certainly felt warmer in this neck of the woods. For me it was the
first really unpleasant day of the "summer" so far.

.... I think this is at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton
( http://www.noc.soton.ac.uk/nocs/findus.php )

but don't know where the sensors are located relative to the Centre.

Used to send CDL data when I last worked in the Met O, but don't know if
this is still the case.
