Default 20C+ Copley today?

Hi, All,

20C reached at the Lead Mill last week but not at the official Met O
site. As expected, the wind has veered today from the cool easterlies
off the North Sea to warmer southerlies off the Vale of York. This
should bring us our earliest 20C recorded here, equal with 15th April
2003. We sometimes have to wait until June for this milestone.

09Z - 09Z Copley Met O, max 19.2C min 5.6C grass -0.5C rain nil sun
00Z - 00Z 12.2hr
Copley Lead Mill max 19.5C min 3.5C

April sunshine so far is 123 hours, month's average is 152hr

Best wishes,
Ken

It all went to plan for this sun and warmth lover. High today 22.6C
which is a new April high for me since I began recording for the Met O
in 1972!
Previous highs were 22.5C at Low Etherley and 22.4C here at Copley -
so a pretty close run thing.
10.8hr sun today so far with mean wind speed just 3.1KT, a wonderful
day.

Ken, what range did you have today. We went from 3.3 to 24.2. I was
surprised at that max I have to admit, but what an amazing day for April.

Hi, David,

Met O site 5.6C to 22.6C, range 17.0degC.
I suspect the Lead Mill would have had a max around the same or
perhaps 23.0C - it's difficult to tell but I'll see in the morning.
Lead Mill min 3.5C to 23.0C(est), range 19.5degC(est)
I don't think it will be higher than your 20.9degC range

The difference between the max today and tomorrow looks interesting.

Best wishes,
Ken

Quite a cool min, that fog and murk kept temps down in Middlesbrough on
Saturday as well, back home it was lovely day.

Sunday up here min 10C max 26.1C, not much wind so that might be a
slightly higher max than actual.

Today curently 9.3C, no wind, overcast, rather misty and a very fine
drizzle.
