Another absolutely fantastic weekend here in south Devon. Unbroken sunshine
again. The strawberries are ripening, courgettes fruiting, tomatoes
flowering and the runner beans have nearly reached the top of their canes!
This month has felt more like June than April, just the cooler nights have
given it away.

22.9C yesterday and 23.3C today.

Currently at 20:00, 16.5C, RH 66%, DP 10.2C, 1015.3 mb (S), Wind Southerly 3
mph, 11.7 hours of bright sunshine today.

I thought the Otter valley was East Devon Nick?

I have strawberries in flower but nothing else whatsoever. Will sow my runners
in June as normal. Broad beans and peas sown but still no shoots.

Day max. - a hot 16.5C (normal is 11.0C)

Hmmm, difficult one this as the Otter Valley is in the district of East
Devon but it also is on the south coast. I suppose the best description
would be south-east Devon.

Funny nobody has picked up on this before as I have always used the term
'south Devon'.

South Devon does cover rather a large area, just like north Devon.

As an ex Brixham-ite i always thought Torbay, Totnes, Kingswear and
Dartmouth were S.Devon. Newton Abbot and beyond is E.Devon

Valerian, echiums & Hottentot Figs in full flower. Another couple of
weeks and the palm trees will be in flower. Went to Trevarno Gardens
last w/e, and the bluebells were basically over. The trouble is, with
the June flowers out now, what will be out in June?

Also quite a few basking sharks around (or the same one's been
swimming around a lot!) and 2 dolphins just off Penzance prom!
